How to save Money and Reduce Energy Consumption with Inverter Drive Systems
Turning potential savings into real savings.
For many organisations, energy is one of the top 3 production costs.
Energy savings contribute to future revenues by:
- improving profitability,
- enhancing a company’s environmental brand
- reducing a company's vulnerability to future energy shortages or price increases.
Despite all of the positive reasons for companies to implement energy saving programmes the evidence is that industry is not achieving savings.
The issue does not seem to be in identifying energy saving opportunities as many companies have made use of government supported schemes to identify where savings can be made.
The issue is around turning opportunities into reality. A recent department of the environment survey in the US found that, of all the opportunities for energy savings identified, 44% had a payback of less than 9 months, but a staggering 92% had not been implemented within 12 months of being identified.
Here at IDS, we work to give you measurable energy savings.
Get a Full Energy Saving Site Survey - FREE of charge
The Energy Saving Site Survey involves a tour around your plant with your site electrical engineer, which will outline areas of potential energy saving through the use of Variable Speed Drives. This may also include applications where the use of High Efficiency (EFF1) motors, Softstarts or Energy Optomisers may also be cost-effective. There may also be applications where simple control modifications can be made to provide low cost energy savings.
The site Survey usually takes 2 - 3 hours and concentrates on your major consumers of electrical energy.
Usually 80% of energy consumption is in 20% of the applications (Pareto's rule). These applications can be such as cooling water pumps, extraction fans and air compressors.
After completion of the site survey you will receive a comprehensive report that includes
- the applications with the greatest potential for energy saving along with a proposed Variable Speed Drive control philosophy,
- an estimated price for the installation,
- the potential energy savings you will make.
