Inverter Drive Systems (IDS) are a 24-hour company offering an unchallenged technical knowledge of inverter applications and system design. Whether it’s simply supply only, or complex closed loop PID inverter control, we have the solution with a proven track record.

We are a uniquely experienced company dedicated to providing bespoke energy saving solutions for industry and commerce through Variable Speed Drive (Inverter) technology. We enable companies to offset the impact of the Climate Change Levy by saving electrical energy, improve motor control methods and reduce costly mechanical maintenance.

AC Induction motors consume 65% of the electrical energy generated globally. An estimated 20% of this energy is lost through mechanical throttling methods such as dampers and valves. IDS implement solutions to remove these mechanical devices and control the speed of the motor directly to create the same effect (of flow, pressure etc).

Pumps and fans account for over 55% of motor usage and offer the greatest potential energy savings due to their 'Variable Torque' nature. The power consumed is proportional to the cube of the speed, or in simple terms a 20% reduction in the motors speed (0.8) gives a 49% saving in the energy consumed (0.8 x 0.8 x 0.8 = 0.51).

IDS have over 8 years experience of implementing energy saving and control improvement inverter systems on applications such as pumps, fans, mixers, crushers and conveyors. These include complex closed-loop PID systems with PLC interfaces, and inverters incorporated into control panels.

IDS offer a complete 24-hour service from initial site surveys to inverter system design, build, installation, commissioning and management.
