ABB ACS580 Training

IDS are proud to say that on the 20th April, we hosted our first 3-hour open training event to showcase the features, size and design of the ACS580. The brand new ACS580 is one of the most compact drive per kilowatt on the market. Wall mounted from 0.75 kW up to 250 kW, it also features an amazing new graphical keypad with a really easy to use start up wizard and Safe Torque Off as standard.

The course got off to a great start with a presentation from Andy Preston from ABB where he spoke about the history of ABB, but mainly focussed on the fantastic new features of the ACS580 and how many of them were flying out the door!

The next part of the training course was much more hands on as we brought out the demo kits. These went down a storm! The feedback we received was just phenomenal, with everyone completely taken aback by how simple the new keypad was to use. The easy setup, clear language and sheer ease of use were the features most commented upon, with the compact size against kW rating generating a lot of interest too.

All these features have made the ABB ACS580 a lot easier to commission and had people asking ‘why don’t we have these?’ and asking for more hands on training.

As the training session came to an end, we received some amazing feedback with 87.5% of our guests rating the training course as 5 or 6 stars out of 6!
