Approximately 50 suppliers and customers gathered for the annual CEMA Golf Day at Radcliffe on Trent Golf Club on a hot, dry June day.
The format for the day was Stableford with the best two scores from the teams of four to count. Leon Ball represented IDS and despite not having played golf for over ten years managed to contribute to the team score. The dry ground made driving distance easy but the lightning fast greens made scoring difficult. Playing with representatives from CEMA and Siemens, Leon’s team came fifth with a respectable scored of 74.
A competition for nearest the pin and longest drive (for which IDS donated the prize of a Garmin Approach S10 watch) was held with the winner of the longest drive prize going to Matt Cooper from Severn Trent Water.
CEMA Golf Day
Following a generous lunch of steak pie and chips, a raffle for prizes donated by suppliers and customers was held in the clubhouse. Prizes included retail vouchers, bottles of fine wines and spirits, golf equipment and an iPad. Proceeds from the raffle are to be donated to the chosen charity – The Alzheimer’s Society.
Thank you CEMA, you were perfect hosts. All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable day and Leon looks forward to participating again next year.
