FSDF Business Affairs Seminar 29 January 2015

As members of the FSDF we went to the annual Business Affairs Seminar at Norbert Dentressangle, Northampton, however this year we also had an exhibition stand with enough room to demonstrate the balloon machine.

Highlights of the FSDF Business Affairs Seminar 29 January 2015:

Several speakers were on the agenda for the day, for the members that were there the topics were very relevant, Logistics insurance and what their needs are, an update on Employment law; specifically about zero hour contracts, holiday pay and parental leave changes. How having a primary authority partnership could assist companies and how they can work together.

Apprenticeships were a hot topic and Norbert Dentressangle show cased how they have grown from not having any apprentices to now employing over 100. And at the end of the updates we enjoyed a lively sales topic of the “relationship with the customer”.

There was a lot of interest in our balloon machine demonstration and we talked to several potential customers who have refrigerated warehouses and cold storage warehouses where we have previously had very good energy saving results. We got to meet prospective new customers in an environment where they were learning and obtaining information.

Why IDS were there?

There was a really interesting update on the CCA (the climate change agreement), FSDF have been working with Jacobs/SKM Enviros to achieve a manageable target of 11.7% for all the members signed in to it.  Although they are now in the first reporting stage, you can still sign up to the agreement. Fitting inverters to motors can drastically reduce your energy consumption, assisting you with your first year CCA target.  Give us a call on 0115 944 1036 to arrange an Energy Efficient Motor Audit.

We already have a couple of visits booked in to see FSDF members who are looking to reduce their energy consumption and associated costs, and a few more to be made.

All in all a great exhibition.
