Lorraine and Neil from IDS recently attended the Rockingham Speedway Track where the Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce held their annual exhibition, including a networking lunch and seminar on SEO (Search Engine Optimisation). The event coincided with the run up to the last weekend of the British Automobile Racing Club (BRSCC) season. The cars were all out on the track taking advantage of practice day. A thrilling sight indeed!
Taking centre stage and creating a lot of interest was the IDS balloon demonstration machine, with our banners in the background, our stand did look rather striking.
The balloon demonstration machine caused quite a stir as everyone exhibiting and visitors wanted to see what all the noise was about and why this balloon kept moving around the stand. No magic tricks, just the inverter controlling the motor, demonstrating energy efficient motor control.
Essentially, the balloon machine demonstrates a small Air Handling Unit powered by a 0.25kW motor. When we turn the speed of the motor down by 20% the energy consumption is reduced by 50% (cube law find out more here). We have a wide range of case studies from different industries and a variety of applications, who have all used inverters to reduce the speed of electric motors and reduce the amount spent on energy.
Check out this case study at Northants based garden and architectural stonework specialists, Haddonstone. We saved them £50,000 by fitting inverters. Or the substantial energy savings this Warehouse now enjoys, year on year!
We are looking forward to building new relationships with the people we met, we have over 20 new contacts to follow up.
