Our team at Inverter Drive Systems is a diverse and skilled group of professionals dedicated to delivering excellence in inverter technology and services. Each member brings a unique set of skills and experience, ensuring that IDS remains at the forefront of inverter technology solutions. Our team of ABB trained and qualified inverter installation engineers are on 24/7 call out rota for breakdowns to keep our customers equipment running. Many of our engineers have been with IDS or ABB for 16 years and have probably done every type of installation and solved all inverter challenges. Each engineer is self sufficient with a fully equipped van, including the full range of ABB spares suitcases.
George Dodwell is our dedicated ABB Sales Manager. As an ABB VP we work closely with ABB to deliver sales, support and servicing for ABB inverters. George lends his technical acumen and considerable industry knowledge for the benefit of both our team and our customers.
Andrew White’s (Chalky) background is in the repair and testing of electric motors. He now focuses on the service, repair and testing of all types of inverters. He has been working with ABB drives for 20+ years and was a founder member of IDS. He now applies his skills and knowledge to advising and planning the vital role of inverter service to our clients’ key inverters. Andrew also looks after IDS’ large inverter hire fleet using in trials, breakdowns and inverter repairs.
He is a long standing numismatist after being introduced to coin collecting by his aunty.
Jake Lawrence is our highly qualified and experienced Project Manager. As an accomplished hands-on electrical project manager, Jake is used to overseeing complex projects from conception to completion. Jake makes sure projects are completed efficiently and effectively, on time, within budget and he ensures our projects deliver great results in conjunction with the support of our team of highly experienced engineers.
Stacey Browne is our Project Scheduler, she organises the labour for all our contracts.
Jill Nightingale and Margaret Jones are the backbone of IDS. Answering calls, generating quotations, progressing, dispatching orders and scheduling engineers. They also make sure the office temperature is at its most ambient… apparently.
In their “spare time” they chase the debtors, control finances and generate monthly management accounts AND GENERALLY RUN THE BUSINESS!
Wayne Draper is responsible for IDS health and safety regulations, quality assurance procedures and our environmental policies. IDS are audited for each of these 3 ISO areas. Wayne also manages the stores.
Not only does Wayne carry out internal ISO audits, he is also our onsite installation team auditor, helping to ensure we comply with our customers requirements for these areas.
Karen Williams joined IDS in 2023 as Business Development Manager to expand the company’s customer base in existing and new business sectors. She comes from an Electrical Wholesale and Controls/Automation background and has over 25 years of experience within the industry.
The founder of IDS Blaise Ford has passed over the reigns for managing the business and now focuses on what he loves: getting stuck into helping clients with innovative, technical solutions.
Jules White deals with all aspects of marketing for IDS.
Matt Handley is the Director of Operations for IDS with responsibility for all aspects of the business. Matt has a wealth of experience working with Variable Speed Drives, including a previous role as MD at KEB (UK), 9 years with Mitsubishi and 4 with Siemens. Matt is tasked with pushing the business to the next level whilst maintaining our high customer service standards.
